Does anyone know how to get rid of honey bees in the side of your house?

if they have created a hive in the wall,it can be a modest problem.

you might see if there is a bee keeper near you that would be willing to

cover the cost of minor construction for the bees.

a local college or university entomology dept. may be able to help.

extermination should be a 'last resort' scenario.

if you had a way to harvest the honey,I'd say keep them.

in the walls, however, they would find their way into your house.

Sure do, but since you don't it's really not something I would feel comfortable telling you to do it yourself. You don't have either the equipment nor the experience and it can be as much about carpentry as anything else.

Check your yellow pages to see if someone does hive removal in your area. If no one specifically advertises for bees then call the exterminators.

The killing of the bees is relatively easy. The problem come that if you kill the bees you then are left with a hive of wax and honey in your wall. This can bring lots of creatures into your home. Ants, for instance.

If insects and such don't get the honey it can still be a problem. When summer comes, the sun shining on the side of the house can soften the wax to the extent it flows down inside the wall and you have honey leaking everywhere.

So it can be a big mess.

You are looking for someone who not only kills the bees, but takes off the siding and removes the wax and honey. Then fill the void and plug the hole and put everything back together.

It's really quite involved to do it right.

If they just got there today they may be gone tomorrow. If they are there longer than that start looking to see if there is an apiaryist in your area. If you call a bug spray place they may come and kill them which is not good. Call several if you go that route til you find one that will remove them to someplace safe.
Depending on where you live, there are people who remove bee hives for free, so they can raise the bees for honey. Try searching google to see if there is anyone in your area that will do that.
spray them with vinegar. After a little while they should go away. Fire could get out of hand. Plus you don't need to kill them unless they are causing you major problems. We need our bees.
Call the exterminator :D
